Who runs this site
About Us
An independent ServSafe Manager prep resource, built by people who would rather hand you real practice than one more list of answers to memorize.
If you found this page while circling the ServSafe Manager exam and wondering whether the site you just landed on is trustworthy — good instinct, and you are not the only one. Almost everyone prepping for this certification ends up sifting the same crowded search results, unsure which practice tools were actually built for this test. So here is the straight version of who we are.
We are Line Check, a small independent team that builds focused practice for the ServSafe Manager (CFPM) food-safety certification. We are not a school, not a testing center, and — to say it plainly up front — not ServSafe. We make one thing well: honest, exam-shaped practice you can run for free right here on our practice test, or in the app when you want the full question bank.
Why we build practice, not dumps
Why practice beats a pile of memorized answers
You can find long lists of ServSafe questions-and-answers all over the web, and they feel productive because the page is full. The trouble is that the Manager exam rarely asks you to recall a definition. It hands you a kitchen scene — a cooler stocked wrong, a cook holding food at the wrong temperature — and asks what a manager should do next. That is a judgement you build by working questions and reading why each answer holds up, not by scrolling a static dump.
So every question in our bank carries a plain-English rationale, and the practice deck lets you move at your own pace and step back to any question without losing your place. The one habit that moves scores is quiet and unglamorous: practise, read the reasoning, review the topic you keep missing, repeat.

How we keep our guidance honest
Food-safety rules and exam logistics change, and a prep site that quietly goes stale does more harm than good. Here is how we try to stay worth your trust:
We teach the reasoning, not just the numbers
Temperatures and time windows matter, but the exam rewards knowing why a rule exists. We write toward understanding the danger zone and two-stage cooling well enough to explain them, not just recite them.
We do not invent the volatile details
Anything ServSafe sets and can change — the exam fee, the passing score, the question count and time, retake and validity windows — we do not print as a fixed rule. We point you to servsafe.com for the current figures instead of guessing on your behalf.
We stay on one exam, on purpose
This site preps the ServSafe Manager exam and nothing else. Food Handler, Alcohol and Allergens are separate ServSafe products, so we do not muddy the practice by mixing them in.
We listen when something looks off
Spotted a question that reads wrong, or a rule that has since changed? Tell us on the contact page — a real person reads it, and corrections are the point, not an annoyance.
The disclaimer, plainly
Independent — and clear about it
We want zero confusion on this point, because it matters for what you rely on. Line Check is an independent study resource. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by ServSafe or the National Restaurant Association. ServSafe is an ANSI-accredited certification those organizations run; we simply build practice for it. When you are ready to register, take the official exam, or confirm any requirement, that all happens through servsafe.com or your local health department — never through us.
Scope
What this site is — and isn't
| What Line Check does | What we leave to the official source |
|---|---|
| Free, exam-shaped practice questions with a written rationale on each one | Registering you for the exam or booking a testing seat |
| A calm study loop: practise, review your weak topic, repeat | The current fee, passing score, question count and time limit |
| Coverage of the ServSafe Manager / CFPM competency areas | Food Handler, Alcohol and Allergens — separate credentials |
| Honest, plain-English guidance you can read for free | Whether your state or county requires the certification |
We would rather send you to the official source for a number than guess and get it wrong. Honest beats impressive.
A few honest questions people ask us
Are you affiliated with ServSafe or the National Restaurant Association?
No. Line Check is an independent study resource, not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by ServSafe or the National Restaurant Association. We build practice for the exam; registering and testing happen through servsafe.com.
Why won't you tell me the exam fee, passing score, or number of questions?
Because those are set by ServSafe and can change, and a prep page that prints an out-of-date number does real harm. We would rather point you to the official source for the current figures than have you trust a stale one from us. Check servsafe.com before you register.
Is this the ServSafe food handler card?
No — and it is an easy mix-up. This site preps the ServSafe Manager (CFPM) certification, the manager-level credential. The food handler card is a separate, entry-level one, as are the Alcohol and Allergens courses. We stay on the Manager exam so the practice actually matches it.
